Neuro Play Ground (NPG) Lite is a compact, 3-channel wireless bio-potential amplifier for EMG, ECG, EOG, and EEG recording. Built in the Adafruit Feather form factor, it supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, and Thread for versatile wireless connectivity. With built-in patient protection, USB-C, LiPo charging, six addressable LEDs, and a reset/user button, NPG Lite is portable, easy to set up, and ideal for research, education, and wearables.

Its functionality can be extended using Playmate or FeatherWing boards for haptic, audio, I2C, and control add-ons, making it highly adaptable for diverse applications.

What Makes NPG Awesome ?

Multiple wireless protocols

Users can choose the ideal wireless protocol— Wi-Fi for high-throughput, Bluetooth or Zigbee for low power, or Thread for mesh networking.

Hassle-free setup

Its compact design and easy setup enable portability, fast deployment, and a clutter-free experience. Perfect for research, education, and wearables.

Multi-Device Integration

Users can connect multiple NPG device to one system, enabling simultaneous data collection from multiple body areas.

Flexible communication

Users can select the optimal wireless protocol—Wi-Fi for high-speed streaming, Bluetooth or Zigbee for low power, or Thread for mesh networking.

Software Support

Compatible with the free, open-source Chords,(Web, Python, LSL Connector) suitable for real-time visualization, LSL streaming, CSV recording, filtering, FFT analysis, and game integration.

Projects

Bubble Pop with Brainwaves

Pop the bubbles while focusing on using EEG signals. This project is a brain-computer interface (BCI) application where EEG (electroencephalography) signals are used to control an interactive bubble-popping game. The system detects beta wave activity (13–30 Hz), which is associated with focus and attention. When the user concentrates, bubbles appear and pop; when they lose focus, the bubbles stop popping.

Real-Time ECG & Heart Rate on Mobile

Detect heart rate and ECG signals on a mobile phone. This project focuses on capturing electrocardiogram (ECG) signals and heart rate data using Neuro Play Ground Lite and displaying them on a mobile phone in real time.

Control the Games with Eye Blink

Controlling Chrome Dino Game using EOG signals. This project allows you to control the Chrome Dino Game using eye blinks! Instead of using the keyboard, you can jump by blinking. The setup detects EOG signals from the eyes and takes the eye blink as a trigger to emulate the space bar on the keyboard. You can configure the code to simulate any other key as well.

Make Music with Your Muscles

Controlling music with your muscle signals (EMG). This project is a perfect example of human computer interface (HCI) where we are using 3-channel EMG data to detect muscle signals from the left hand, right hand, and chest. To control music. Each channel, when triggered by contracting the muscles, generates a different sound effect, allowing you to create a muscle-controlled music system. The best part is that you can change the music and even place the electrodes on any other muscle, like the forearm, biceps, thighs, calf muscles to create a different experience altogether.
